Just some statistics on injurys, deaths, etc......
Heres a few from Minnesota........
Most crashes occur in the late afternoon and early evening hours. The morning and evening rush hours see the greatest numbers of crashes. About half of the fatalities occur between 7:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

- While most crashes occur from April through September, June, July, and August tend to have the highest number of crashes.

- Crashes are fairly evenly distributed throughout the week, although Fridays and Saturdays are the two highest crash days.

- The two most cited factors in collisions involving a motorcycle and another motor vehicle are "failure to yield the right of way" and "driver inattention," both attributed to the drivers of other motor vehicles.

- Helmets were not used by 77.1% of riders killed and not used by 50% of riders injured in 2000.

- In 2000 in Minnesota, 57% (648) of the motorcycle crashes were single-vehicle crashes. They often happened at night and involved riders who'd been drinking alcohol. A common crash scene showed that the road turned and the rider didn't, or the road went straight and the rider didn't.
