got he new engine in the busa and it will not run pops and misfires whent he throttle is opened the new engine is a 2004 and my bike is a 2001 any ideas on what i may have missed? everything bolted right up and plugged in with no problems

i believe you need the ecm from the 2004 but i could be wrong i thought 99-02 were 16bit and 03 and up were 32 bit

99 and 00 are they same
01 is a mutt
02 to 07 the same

But do you still have your stock motor?

If you do, you need the rotor and thats all

i do have my 01 engine i can use the rotor and that will make it work with my computer?

i knew someone with more knowledge than me would chime in
but the rotor makes sense

ya makes perfect sense since the 2004 has 24 teeth vs the 2001 with 8 teeth too bad you cant find a m20x1.5 bolt any where around here had to order the tool

Correct, a 32 bit system, over the 16 bit that you have!

That would most likely end up costing more out of pocket also. What he has will work just fine, unless he really wanted to upgrade to 32bit. Bike will ride the same if it had 16 or 32bit. Currently he has everything to get it running correctly right? I'd say slap it together and grip and rip!
