I've attended the races so often in the past, and LAGUNA SECA IS COMING UP IN A FEW DAYS! So I wanted to share this little tech tidbit.
Most top level road races broadcast on AM (some FM) but the signal isn't that strong so.....Radio Shack has a headphone set that is AM/FM and most importantly....digital(so it won't drift off frequency). It is full ear coverage (looks like Bose type) and has powerful volume so you can hear the broadcast even with MotoGP bikes flying by right in front of you! I've tried 'em all and this unit is the best...for about $40 bucks! I hope what I learned helps other's spectating pleasure.
