MOORE\'S DEATH POSES QUESTIONS FOR RIDERS

I guess by now everyone's seen the film of Greg Moore's fatal CART Series crash in California last Saturday.

Almost straight into a cement wall at 215 mph.

Obviously the racing community is asking why there was grass not gravel in the run-off area and why there were no tires or straw in front of the cement wall...or more accurately why there was a CEMENT wall there at all.

It certainly makes me think a little about the 2 tracks I run usually run on. They've both got cement walls at the point where you exit the last turn onto the start/finish straight. This corner exit, although it's not too fast (80 mph) on either course is the most hotly contested corner on the last lap.

I'm going to put pressure on the managements of both tracks to cushion these corners before next season.

Does anyone else run hard on tracks that could put them into cement walls like Greg Moore?
