I was just curious what kind of mileage everyone is getting out of there tires. I've got 3800 on the stock tires and they look like I can go at least another 1500. I had a 2000 Katana 750 before and 5000 miles was about the most I could get out of a set of tires.
I average about 3 months (around 4k miles ) to a rear tire and had about 10k on front when I switched it out. Mainly depends on riding style and tire choice. Soft tires with hard riding = short life span. I usually take it fairly easy to get this much life out of my tires.
I've got 3700 on my stock rear and it's whipped! ABSOLOUTELY NO BURNOUTS!!! I can't believe it's whipped already, but oh well. I got it off and awaiting my Metzler Sportec M1 type P, gotta be ready this spring when the turbo's a spoolin!!!!
got about 6000 on the stock rear (i ran it til the threads came out) and i still have this first stock front tire on with 14000 miles...its worn to the wear markers but i think i can manage a few hundred more miles out of her.
No personal data yet...I've only got 1100 miles on the bike.
I would like to throw in a word of caution here though.
If your tires are wearing to the marks, let alone the cords , then they need replacing. The busa will not be forgiving if you're having a good day, and start riding hard. With the busa, you need all the traction you can get. Please don't allow yourselves to caught up in the price/mileage game. Traction and Performance costs money, just learn to live with it.
Rolling on the throttle at the apex of a turn is not a good time to wonder if your tires are good enough. Your lives are worth any minor differences in cost.
Average riders average riding shold get you about 7,000 miles on the back 10,000 on the front. Trips over 150mph will take you down to 4,000 on the rear 6,000 on the front.
I now have 13700 miles on her........get about 5K out of a rear, now on second front still looks good....bought bike used..Bto10 was half gone..then..then a Bto20 and now a pirelli ...
almost gone..not too bad...bike rocks though..it depends mostly how one rides...punch it hard here and there..cruise easy otherwise..no burnouts till it's just about toast..fun fun..
Got 12000 kms on the rear (about 7000 miles) and swapped 'em both out... I think that's the way to go rather than keeping the front on... my preference.
I have 1500 on my rear 208. I set the second trip odometer when I put it on. One 1 second burnout for the kids at the car show (Yeah I know, real good example to set Mr. D) and I have about 2/3 of the tire left. My baby does see mid range triple digits several times weekly.
