Mid pipes

Just noticed today that my buddy's 05 LE has 2 removable mid pipes. I gave him my old exhaust from my 2000 as he wanted the black finish instead of the chrome, and on the 2000 only 1 side mid pipe is removable the other is welded to the headers! WTH! Do they fit anyway? anyone ? ... anyone ... ?

Have to swap entire exhaust systems from the header back to the cans.
