Melted pigtail and wires

So I have my fuel tank off on a gen1 and I notice this pigtail melted. It has three yellow wires, one side of the pigtail the wire are high temperature type. I'm sure glad it did not start a fire underneath the tank.
Anyone else see this on their bike.
please advise.

:bump: Never happened to me. Any electrical mods??? HID's or other mod that may have required splicing or messing with the harness or fuse box???

Wow that's the stator wires, it could have gotten pinched and shorted to melt like that. Have you been having any charging or starting issues
