Low idle

So my bike idles at around 1,000rpm and sometimes even does while in my driveway running or at a stop light. Is it easy to adjust the idle up just a tad a d if so how? What would you suggest for a good idling RPM?

The 99 models have a "tap" on top of the clutch basket cover that adjusts idle. What year model do you have?

I have an 03, guess I could have put that. I am out if town for the week but will look when I get back. Just noticed it more yesterday since I finally had a chance to ride. Lol

I got back and searched the archives a little bit and found a thread that walked me through it. Got it up to about 1200RPM now. Runs like a champ.

My 00 idles at 1k and it's never caused an issue. I have the external adjustment knob but I've never used it.
