new to the LA area and looking to start running around on beach, mountain, and city roads. Any suggestions or connections? I am 26, have weekends free and plan to start riding within a month.

I'm out here in Santa Monica, if you want to ride sometime PM me and we'll exchange cell numbers or something. Only problem is I work weekends, but can get off at 3-5pm with planning. Word of warning out here, the cops are nasty. Especially if they see crossing double yellow lines, which all the canyon roads have. So definately pick you passing carefully. They nailed me just Thursday.
Can't make this Sunday, working credit hours for my vacation, TO THE KEYS!! I get back 8-24 late night, so that Sun is out to. I'll be thinking of you guys as I sittin in the sand in the shade of palm trees
Im out in coasta mesa.just got my bike here 1 week ago and definately any one out here in this genral local wants to ride give me a shout i wana try to get a local club started here some time !
Me myself ive been ridin in the laguna hills area dana hills area and in and around PCH so far thats about as far as i been going but this next weekend planing to try and go out to venice if i can get saturday off !
hopefully not to much work 
but if any ones intrested in going out to venice or that genral area give me a pm !

Aaaah! I don't need much of an excuse to go to Vegas!
lol vegas we could do that... Nice straight aways in some areas im feelin 170-180 might get there 30 min lol ! j/k

Hey LA Riders,
bog and I are thinking about coming down Dec. 20 to Jan 4. We'll be shipping our bikes down..leaving them at some dealer in LA and heading off for 16 days of riding...Anyone free to go riding at this time?
We'd love the company.

Let me know if you make up your minds to come to Vegas. Hopefully, I will be dual-sportin' the Mexican Baja over Xmas, but if that fails through, I would love to see you guys again... especially in my home-town.

That's cool...we're definitely coming to Vegas..we want to spend New Years Eve there if possible..if not we'll just ride down that way. Are there some good riding roads over there..Bog wants to spend 3 days in Vegas. Are there any twisties? Anyways, that's the plan..he wants to go the Mojave desert as well. How does that sound to you?

Now I am torn! Most likely I will be in Cabo San Lucas for New Years Eve, but if not, certainly we could get a ride in around that time.
From LA to Vegas is a straight shot in boring pavement, however, you can make it a very interesting ride if you have time. You can take Angles Crest Highway out and end up somewhere near Barstow. Then ride to Baker on I-15 (the highway I talked about). From Baker you can ride to Death Valley, then over the mountains and back to Vegas. If you have time in the Vegas area, YOU MUST ride around Lake Mead to Valley of Fire. Also, Red Rock Canyon and Death Valley are great. Mt. Charleston is also very nice, but you may hit snow around that time of year, in fact, you need to check on Angles Crest too for snow (ask Big O about this, he knows better than I).
Just let me know if there is anything I can help you with for your Vegas trips. I know all the spots in town, been here nearly 7 years now.

Does anyone know where it starts to get warm and dry. I'm coming from Vancouver, BC. I know Oregeon is cold and windy and rainy but where in California does it start getting better. I've been to San Fransico once for Christmas and it was horrible tons of rain. Does anyone know?
I actualy live in the Orange County area not to far from LA county tho! just a short drive down the 5 free way !
Let me c actualy past San Fransisco starts gettin better around san luis obisbo area for california the weather warms up a bit i believe !
and if u have time we can set up a ride in so cali show u some cool riding areas next to the beach etc. ! i believe im on call in december, so who knows but pm or e-mail me and we can sort out the details !
