Loose steering Damper?

Hey guys, very curious.

My steering damper has play up and down.

are you suppose to be able to move it with your hand where its bolted or is there suppose to be some play? ???

the bolt is tight holding it.

but i can wiggle the damper up and down.

There's a knuckle assembly which allows it to pivot. Yes it should rock up and down.

I concur,,,,I went dont that avenue of worry,,,it is suppose to wobble up and down,,,Normal

Thanks all, mine wiggles around up and down on both the pivot points too. Seems like it could be wrong but everyone's does that.


Anyone know anything concerning servicing of OEM steering damper??:

Drain fluid and add in fresh, we always put a heavy oil in than stock as it makes the damper that much better.

Is the gen2 damper user serviceable? The gen 1, if I recall, was a pita to service.
