Looking for a Switched Wire

Now, I have X-TRE, radar detector and screamer all connected directly to the battery. I am thinking this is probably not optimal (battery drain), but need help/suggestions.

I'd at least like to connect these devices to a switched wire, but don't know where one is. Any advice?

I did purchase the 12V adaptor from Greg (BoostBySmith), but was told by my service shop that I'd have to take the front nose off to actually get to the extra plug behind the gauge cluster... so I didn't go there (yet).

Any real harm in going straight to the battery, so long as I start the bike often enough?

Thanks!

You can reach that plug pretty easy. Just pull the inner panels and the windscreen. I dont think you will need to pull the cluster.

I have a Gen II... not as easy as Gen I hear.

On Gen I, it's right behind left turn signal. On Gen II, it's behind gauge cluster on right.... so I hear. :)

I know that you have a Gen2...I was asking James aka Twotonevert.

Basically telling him he doesn't know shid from shinola

I have a Gen1 and a Gen2, but not a answer to your question

Haha, oops... Yeah I know!

Didn't mean to reply to you.

I hooked mine up, but I had the nose off when I installed my hid.
