Looking For A Radar Detector

Ive used my Beltronics RX65 over 4 bikes , i prefer an audio alert which tells me if its Ka or Laser.

I'm actually in the process of making a 3D printed clamshell, with Lexan inserts just to give it a little weatherability. Still in the fumbling about stage right now.

I guess I am more of a wus. If its raining, I am either stopped having lunch, or riding sane (ie posted limits)! I just dont see a need for a weatherproof radar detector, map sure.
On a side note, I have replaced my Passprt 9500ix of 12 years to the new Max360 and absolutely love it.

The Escort Max2 that I just got has Bluetooth built in so my IP68 cell phone can (theoretically) control everything without needing to touch the detector when underway. This is what I am playing with at the moment as far as an enclosure.

Can you use the Escort App and fine tune the bands?
A lot of things can be adjusted or turned on/off through the app. If you don’t want to wait until the detector learns the false alarms around home on its own(when you first install it), you can have the app. Running while driving and just hit false alert when it goes off as you drive in front of that walgreen/store, etc. I like the red light camera and aircraft speed traps alert.

Agreed, I love my Escort, it has saved me countless times. I still need to fine tune one frequency, Volvo's get me on their proximity warning but I never write the band down so I can lock it out.

My buddy, Kruz did the research and determined the Uniden was best. It's saved his butt several times since he bought it. He knows the cops are there a mile away.

Only thing, if your cops use instant on radar, that's pretty hard to escape but if your quick on the brake you still might slow down a significant amount before they get full lock on you. Don't go fast where the road is straight and if you do, choose your time wisely.

If your cops have laser, your just screwed. I haven't heard much about the purported laser jammers that came out a few years ago.

Ride the twisties where you're a hard target and have your Uniden on bluetooth.

Interesting. I was working on a hard tank bag that didn't look like a sack plopped on the top of the tank. Was doing it the hard way shaving foam! Never quite got there. Made a couple enclosures for my Beltronics Sti and found out the heat was a big issue. It caused condensation in the enclosure and things would get pretty wet. Ended up with a computer fan in there to move air. We have a different problem here in VA because RDs are illegal, so if you are going to roll with one you have to hide it.

I thought in VA they had radar dectector detectors? I always turn mine off and put it away on my way up/down through I95.

I've been using valentine one with blue tooth dongle from them. Have the v1 app on my note 8. I also have the app, YAV1 from app store. Now all this allows instantaneous warning over music, phone call and I mean instant, no delay. That is extremely important as this app is instant, not like other apps that lower volume on calls and music, THEN you hear the radar warning. I need my warning right now to ease down speed from who knows what speed. It takes a few to hear, react, then slow down from maybe 150!! the valentine one with it's app YAV1 is the combo for me. The valentine also tells you where the radar is coming from front, back, or sides. I won't ever use anything else. You can also adjust it to not pickup door sensors and the lane changer sensors on newer cars too.

Hi, fellas

What`s new in this case? I`m busa holic since 2015, and now came to idea about radar detector.

Which one is more suitable with bike, is it possible to connect to smartphone with bloetooth or something?

Interesting for Europe.

Thanks in advance.
