Local dealer has a diesel converted ex-military KLR for sale. Be kinda cool.

Saw those in the sand box, they were pretty cool....not fast but could go over the mountains

I was told the torque was impressive but the talcum-like sand was hard on filters and if the fuel filters weren't happy, they didn't run.

I can see that.

I bought my thumper before I had a Busa. If I can give anyone advice, it would be to get as much Hp as possible but keep the weight below 300lbs. It gives the possibility to go ANYWHERE but still enjoy the bike on pavement at 100mph.

TE610ie discontinued, was made by the original Husqvarna factory in Varese Italy. The new ones are KTM’s with Husky stickers. They were bought by BMW who completely screwed up the brand making new models which were way too heavy. Then KTM purchased them, closed the Italian factory and paid everyone off.
