Reporting to you almost live. Busa on the track today on brand new pavement in Hastings, Nebraska. 46 degrees this morning made for a chilly start on new pavement. we did some initiation laps since almost no one has been on this track before. It just opened up last month and there are still things to pit in like rumble strips and such. Very nice layout - good twisties and turns - not very good as a busa track - front strait is too short for my particular tastes. It's colder than I prefer riding on my bike and I have double the handicap being able to get faster to speed and having a lot more weight to slow down. My ego is not in my right hand. I am the slowest on the track today and proud of it. yeah I'm scraping knee, but I the straights, I sit bolt upright and let everyone go. My opinion they are riding to hard to fast for the surface temp and tires that are not warming up. And what do ya know, but on the first session out, before the first two laps were over two guys had slid out. Watch your srurface folks! Pay attention to temperature effects on the traction. One was even a control rider. Done 3 sessions now, and someone or two has slid out everytime. I will NOT be goign down today on my busa. So, I'm now riding at about 50% letting everyone by while I try to find the line.... which is hard to do at such low speeds. 2nd gear all teh way again, and I might try 3rd just to lower my rps and cut torque - busa too jerky for certain corners. Got my camera and video but forgot the video mount bolt so thats out. Also didnt get into town until 1am and up at 6:30 so I'm not running on a full tank.

Free wifi at the track is awesome though, because I can watch the big storm rolling in determined to wash out the afternoon - the only time it will be hot enough to really enjoy the pavement. Ok, I'll post a pic of the track since I cant get my camera pics online, will do that later. This is not too fun of a day, but after all the track days I've done, that's okay. Can't expect perfection everytime out.

The dyno guy is back and my fully bone, gfactory stock 2003 with a recently ringed motor is hitting 153 HP, 93 torque. on lookers were impressed, but I know some stockers do better, and the liters are kicking major butt lately.

Loudspeker calling "Medium/slow session" 1st call. Signing off to hit more laps... I won't tell you I was passed by a 250 that's out on the track... 50% people, 50% I'm coming home unscratched

naw, I can womp anyone on the strait but just when it starts gettin fun, gotta hammer the breaks - really twistie track. I just LET them go by. Quit a few give a thank you wave. I'm just not into this today... too many things aginst a safe track day: sporadic raining on different sections of the track, I did two laps and came back in. I'm think I'm calling it quits. 56 degrees, winds at 20 and increasing, dark clouds rolling in, perhaps expensive, but it is the bright thing to do. I got a plethera of nice restraunts to visit for dinner and a hottub back at the hotel. I'll hang out and socialize, have some local grilled steak from the in pit greasey spoon and make the best of it. Next time, it will be 80, sunshineing and I will post LIVE pics. Looking forward to next season of Busa at the Track. Got 3 more track days, but if it's cold I ani't going no where. monna stay home in teh heat and play Nintendo or Suzuki Superbikes Isle of Mann TT

I was poised on the bike with that one hand on the bars, butt hanging off to one side looking back most of the time with the, "Yeah this is slow and ghey" tude going, my body language was saying THIS SUCKS, so it can't thrill them too much.

track day only got worse: colder, windier, rainer and I swear I saw flurries. I'll speak no further of it and go find a good thick steak someone instead. blah! I need to move down south.
