This may be a stupid question, but does a list of LSR style tracks exist for us guys that are interested in the sport but don't really know where such tracks are?

Bonneville - Salt - multi-miles - average speed for a mile
Texas - Pavement - 1 mile - top speed at finish line
Ohio - Pavement - 1 mile - top speed at finish line
Maine - Pavement - 1 & 1.5 mile - top speed at finish line
Mojave - Dirt - multi-miles - average speed for a mile

and there's another on pavement somewhere on the west coast but I don't know it well.

The month of August at the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials Aug. 24-30, Bonneville Salt Flats.

Come on out and give it a shot.

Beware of Salt Fever......

I thought I was going to be happy about this one, but no bikes will run ??? Is that right? :poke:

Well yes, there will be no bikes.

Management looked at all the deaths and injuries
that Texas and the ECTA have been having and
decided that motorcycles were FAR too much risk.

Can't really blame them, the ETCA killed three (3)
folks in quick sucession without ever addressing
the basic problems.

Texas almost killed three (3) of the best riders
in the sport, and actually DID kill a beginner.

I am with the Carabelle group.

I have run a car at that track (Ferrari 575 v-12),
and I think having motorcycles would be
just asking to get somebody killed in the first race.

Get real, let me guess firearms kill people all by themselves also... :banghead:

In the time frame with the Texas Mile and the ECTA "problems"
that have resulted in three (3) VERY serious motorcycle accidents,
and four (4) deaths, at these same tracks there
have been zero(0) automobile injuries, and zero (0) auto deaths.

Obviously, this is a "motorcycle" problem.

Or, maybe a "management" problem.

We are all looking for solutions.

What do you suggest ?

All but one were over the age of 50, so should we start banning old guys from racing....again, get real Scott!

again, get real Scott!

Josh: Is that actually your considered opinion ?
Just ban the guys OVER 50 years old ?

We are looking for reasons these guys got bad hurt or killed,
and you, of all people, should have good reasons
to know the causes, and the solutions.

Please give it another, thoughtful, try.....

Other's lives may depend on it.

You should check your statements, the ECTA didn't kill anyone. We are all racers and all take risks doing what we do. I don't appreciate your remarks or comments trying to stir the pot and place blame. You are as bad as the media with those kind of statements and are trying to accomplish what exactly besides knee jerk reactions and not solving any real problems "looking for reasons."

Why don't you break down each accident and provide real info instead of just throwing out BS remarks to fuel the fire.
