We have a West Coast O-R-G "thang" going on in July in Reno. I'm headed for a San Diego / Orange County O-R-G intercept in Bakersfield, 23 July 2009. The Stampede is 24 July-26 July. The Spud will be departing Las Vegas between 600a, and 630a on Thursday morning. Quick fuel in Barstow, then on to Palmdale, over the hills and into Bakersfield for a major grub-session and fuel while awaiting the SD/OC group. Then we'll group-up(On the roll by 1200p) and head for Fresno for the over-nighter, and onto Reno with escorts on Friday for The Stampede.

Is anyone in Las Vegas interested in making this run ?. I've lost track of just about everybody but GoFaster, Paderolis, Toykraz, and Megawatt. For the others, please forgive me I'm still waking up..... :coffee:

If there is interest, and yet a Thursday Bakersfield / Fresno / Reno doesn't excite you, then we could 95 it all the way or something. Just curious if anyone in the Henderson / Las Vegas area is making the run for the Stampede.

Currently, I'm getting ready to firm up my Fresno reservations and just wanted to put the word out......Talked to The Lamb last night and it sounds like he's got a brand-new ride (paint/pipe/and the likes), it's not going to be Red and Black anymore, but we still have much love for our camouflaged Brother !!! :oldcool:

Spud...according to the Stampede website...You, Megawatt, and Paderolis are the three so far registered for the event.

I will have to let you know in the near future Spudley, too early to tell if I can. There are at least four other riders from 702sb that have shown interest in attending the stampede too! Some of them are planning on trailering their Busas however.

Needless to say, Pacemaster and I will keep in touch with your group ETA in the Markleville area, if that proves out to still be the route of choice. We'll be there to escort you in for a smooth landing in the Peppermill parking lot! :laugh:
 
Thanks Jim, you'll know we're in the area... :oldcool: but don't take us to the Peppermill, take us to RAYDOG's....Doyle said something about cleaning up the rides when we get there.....look for us Bruddah...we appreciate the escort....

Aaron, well let me know if you're up for the ride.....I love long rides, and I'll have the bags, so you "know" the Spud will be packing all the right tools......everything else is going with Elena on the plane..... :super:
 
Gotta check into things. GF is flying up there Thursday, I am riding up so I need to see when the SoCal group is expected to be in town and when the plane lands. I may have to do the direct straight shot from Vegas.
 
Well Elena is flying in Friday morning......so if you're into a straighter shot, let's talk-up the possibilities ????.......
 
The So-cal group would be nice to do but that would add another 250ish miles from Vegas and they are expecting to get into Reno at 5pm Friday.

My pillion flies in at 10 pm Thursday night so I am looking at leaving Vegas in the AM before the asphalt liquifies. Pull into Reno, check in, relax, unwind, clean up the scooter then go to airport in time for 10pm landing. That is only a leisurely 460 mile trip to do in a day without rush. Stay fresh for a weekend of scenic riding that is actually the start of my 10 days off from work and road tripping.

That reminds me I need to tell BIG GUY about my travel plan leave date change.
 
Well I see your point. I was looking to pull out, originally, late Thursday night or early morning Friday for the exact same reasons. Get in ahead of Elena, check in, take nap, and clean the ride. Elena leaves Las Vegas early Friday, via San Fran, arriving about lunch on Friday, and we're staying through Monday. Let's see if maybe we can line up on this. PM me with your rough plans.... :super: As much as I wouldn't mind the longer ride....I can always book the Thursday reservation.........

Yo Joe, we still rolling out on the 23rd ????......I already canceled with Brian for the SoCal route....I do have reservations for that day at the Peppermill......maybe we'll drag someone else along.... :oldcool:
