I love that BMW though

I do to!

That being said, I'll keep my Busa. Now the 1000RR...well that's another story

I have to say...it's about time someone posted up a decent, well written bike comparo featuring the Hayabusa

Anyone notice this 'lil piece....

"You may also be wondering why Kawasaki’s ZX-14R isn’t it this test, as it’s a perfect fit? Due to the time of the season in which we did the test and the Japanese brand being between model-years, they opted to sit it out, as they didn’t have any ZXs available at the time. Even so, the Suzuki had already narrowly defeated the ZX-14 in our 2008 comparison..." :woot:

I'll pass...like I always said, nice bike but you pay thousands more and get less.

If it was priced comparibly it wouldn't be a bad alternative but at $15,259+
(just read an article in Motorcyclist, model as tested was $17,800+)...I paid
$11,000 OTD for my busa...I just can't justify the value, or the extra cash
for a bike that isn't at LEAST an equal. For that price it should smoke a busa
but no what do we get...heated grips....like I can't buy those for the extra
$7,000, or all the other busa accessories for that matter.

Pass on the beamers...way overpriced and under powered.

Now the new S1000R...that's another story.

(BTW-Thought the Concours was a much better bike (and way cheaper)
than the Beamer version K1300GT, and that was before Kawi updated
the Concours for 2010...)

I agree:thumbsup: I would never buy one either but I like it.. I like choppers too but would never buy one of those either

DIBS! Post just above ya'

This is a Hayabusa site! Who cares how the Beemer fared. We all know it lost anyway, just because it isn't a Busa.

This IS a Busa forum, so the Busa should always win here, but...

Being someone that has owned both the Busa and K...

Just IMO of course, the Busa wins in power/acceleration and price, but loses in other areas, which are of course subjective like handling (big time here), comfort (big time here too), brakes (way better here), material quality and dealer options.

If all you care about is raw power for the money, Busa wins.

I would not trade my K back for the Busa unless I was trying to save money though.

Just my opinion, the Busa isn't "faster" enough to really care about the difference. I have more fun on the K.

Not saying this stuff to cause an uproar, just for those that may be considering the K or just want another opinion.

As I have said before in another thread, I could be *totally* happy with a much cheaper Busa... totally justifiable.

You are correct about:
the quality of the materials
the comfort
and the the brakes.

But suzuki is far more reliable than any bmw!!! with more reasonable price!! and more fanatics riders, like we are!!:beerchug:

I prefer a zx14 vs bmw because it ies extremely comfortable with really excellent brakes (i dislike abs) and it is even cheaper than the hayabusa!!

What about handling?!!?! This was a biggie for me.

Well, you probably have something on reliability - I've heard stories, though I have also heard the motors last longer than jap bikes and you can keep a beemer for 200K miles... I will probably never keep a bike long enough to know that.

You definitely have something with Busa riders being cooler... much better, err existent community 'round here. Crickets in the beemer forums mostly - and they aren't generally very cool.

Stickin' with the K, nonetheless.
