Just took a few new pics of Selene today...
Note that she is not a "pledge" bike (not untill the question
of UV protection gets sorted out)

She is however 4 years old (and still has my heart) with 36,000 miles and is
a daily driver...

Like I said no pledge but Zaino Brothers took care of her most of her life
and now it's Meguire's NXT 2.0

I think she looks just fine without the Pledge!
True Beaut! Thanks for the pix.

That is a pretty bike.
What kind of wheels are those.
Looks like the front one has writing on edge like Carrozeria or sumthin ?

Zaino is good stuff but it is a lot of work to put on for sure.

A quote from a Harley site regarding an email one got

I don't know if the stuff y'all are using is different than what she is writing about but it made me stop and look for something else.

A guy a Autogeek said that a spray carnauba wax by Pinnacle Souveran would provide good UV protection, give a smooth wax surface but not change the satin finish on the denim type clear coat finishes. Only drawback is this wax is pricey at $24.95 for a 16oz bottle.

Hope I don't get flamed for this but thought I would point it out being from the horse's mouth.

From what i'm reading Pledge has no UV protection either.

Now I'm gonna go :hide: cuz Sleepless_Red will be here soon to :spank: me

Zaino is awesome stuff...best I've used but expensive...

By the time I order Z-5 and Z-2 and the wash (excellent product(s))
and the hardener and then the sealer and shipping etc etc...I've shelled out
about 80-100 dollars. And as soon as my personal economy picks up...I'll be
getting some more.

However, the meguires NXT is REeeall close, comes in one bottle and is only
14 bucks at wally world. So the shine you see now is meguires...I will say that
I also alternate occaionally with tutlewax ice (liquid) but not real sure I see a
benifit, although my helmet seems to like it.

Yes I also have a can of lemon pledge on my cleaning shelf, along with about
20 other cleaning products (use it on the rims). I did try it on the bike but
again, saw no additional "shine" and with lack of UV protection, I wasn't very
comfortable and followed it with about 2 coats of wax.

My own personal opinion...IF there is no UV protection in pledge, and it's a daily
driver and spends time in the sun...your paint WILL FADE. There are many
products and waxes out there DESIGNED for shine and PROTECTION of automotive
and motorcycle finishes, that have everybit of shine to them...pick one.

If you wheel you bike out for a jaunt once a month to local winghouse and put
a couple thousand miles a year...not much Sun time, it's no big deal...pledge is
probably fine...otherwise ??? good luck, it's your bike.

I will say I take my bike in to get tires they can't believe it's 4 years old with
36,000 miles.

The rims are stock, those are just decals I got the idea and link (ebay) from
another board member. I like the look....
