The need to go fast, that is....

I find myself wanting to go fast on every ride... I can't stop! I also find myself looking/hoping that a car on the road will try to keep up with me or "test" me in some way. I just like going fast whenever I can and I'm amazed I have been lucky enough to avoid a ticket. Many times I've exceeded the limit and then right after I slowed down for traffic/whatever a cop would appear... meaning that I was very lucky not to have run into him while breaking the law! I'm also splitting lanes from time to time (when I know there's no cops) and it's illegal to do here in AL. Even though I've always got this need to go fast and am looking for Mustangs and Vettes to smoke, I feel like I'm doing it all in a controlled manner aka "I can handle it" and am not endangering anyone else in the process. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who rides the Busa fast... that's what it's made for. But the Busa is really starting to become addicting to where I'm always speeding (like 135 in a 45 as an example). I'm sure my time will come when Mr. LEO catches me... but until then, it's gonna be very hard to use a little bit of self control and slow down!!!

Dude, can you please try to maintain a civil speed on public roads, or least dont metion stuff like that? I ask because I'd hate to know my insurance goes up because of friends like this

I'm not bigger than you or anything, just more of an ostrich, if I dont see it, it must not happen ;)

So you think State Farm comes to this forum to see if Busa owners are talking about speeding? Well... who knows. If they or any insurance co. is coming here, then maybe we should not mention crashes, track days, etc...

But... it's hard to stay completely civil on public roads. I don't ride like a total maniac, but I do ride pretty fast!

I respect your opinion, though.

The feeling will go away the first time you collide with something or get to explain your habits to a man in a black and white Impala with hidden LEDs for a lightrack.

If I collide into anything it will end my motorcycle career... so, sure. But if/when I get a ticket it will remind me to not slow down the next time! But, seriously, if I get a ticket it will just hurt the bank... and won't detour me from riding and having fun.

god speed bro, you are man enough to make your own descision.

Just dont hurt someone else.

It's just that speeds below 70 seem way too slow... like I'm barely moving. My cruising speed is probably around 80 (indicated) around town. On the freeway, well... that's something else entirely.

Get in on the Escort Radar Detector Group buy....minimize your exposure.

Come on guys dont come down on Pan I have read post where people are talking about doing 165 MPH. If you hit a locust going that fast it could penetrate your helmet.

I don't even look at my speedometer anymore (except on the freeway)... around town I'm too busy looking around for cops.

have fun but dont hurt anyone else. i have done the same

Your reading comprehension matches your riding, too fast and careless

The meaning was, you go out playing assclownery and get tickets for reckless endangerment/stupidily over speeding etc, and then all Busa owners pay more because statistically the risk is greater! Sorry for being so vague earlier.

Reiteration before getting in a wad, not saying I've never done the speeding things or the likes, just trying to help you realize theres more at stake than you think when you hop on the saddle, maybe it will help, maybe it wont.

You said "don't mention stuff like that" which in my book means "don't mention stuff like that here on the forum" for whatever reason... and since you mentioned insurance rates, I guess I figured you meant because insurance people might be looking here. Yeah... don't be so vague. If you have a statement to make, then make it clear. Thanks. And no... nothing you said will help me... because I think I'm being safe... but fast! Just because I speed, doesn't mean I take risks like passing around corners or anything like that. I guess I just ride fast when I can...

Just dont want to lose another rider you know what I mean? Sorry for budding in.
