Well they got one thing right... Right under Something Awful's headline...
"The Internet Makes you Stupid." Sad but true.
To a great extent what we have started to see and will see more of is a dumbing down. Across the board you see fewer and fewer folks with an even basic grasp of the language, spouting off about things they know nothing about, and stating opinion and bias as fact.
Back in the day you could always send a letter to the editor of your local paper, and if your rambling made any sense you'd get it in the paper. Now however, the internet is ruled by the amateur. No longer are their any standards, any editing, just go ahead open your mouth and let the ignorance flow.
We've got websites dedicated to the mediocre being celebrated as "innovative, clever, or funny". There's Blogs a plenty written by the self important functioning under the flawed notion that they are somehow witty, gifted, or in possession of a real "unique" point of view. Yeah they're unique, just like everyone else.
We're rapidly approaching an ignorance apocalypse, standards are steadily falling, and pretty soon it's all going to be just a single stinking mass of "packaged for your consumption" sound byte delivered, mundane and plebeian.
Now back to the brain numbing.
