I’m getting an FIA light on start up and no fuel pump sound.I’ve just bled the clutch and slave.Any ideas?

Just read this in the little switch manual.

Is it not to be used on an 08 model only or 08 and above?Hmmmm....
For others more knowledgable, murph is talking about the last line of text in the instructions he pictured.

I assume that's an aftermarket clutch MC and they're showing how to hook up the aftermarket clutch MC switch. The 08 needs some kind of clutch switch unless you override the stock clutch switch circuit. I believe I was recently reading a thread where overriding the clutch switch was not recommended.

...and I'd say the same clutch switch rules apply to all Gen2s, not just 08.

Ya you’re right. It’s a VRC Galespeed clutch master cylinder with the recommended switch for it.

Someone just told me that the stock clutch switch is an integral part of the ecu set up and the bike will run like crap without it.I know some of you guys have changed clutch masters so what’s the protocol here?

The only reason I can see that the switch included with your Galespeed MC wouldn't work is that it might be closed at rest and the OEM busa switch is open at rest...or vice versa....I don't know what the busa switch is at rest but if it's opposite of the aftermarket switch, I see how that would create a problem.

I can't comment on a Gen1, but here's my experience for a Gen2
All clutch related. (brake is a different thing)
The switch is normally open, closed when the lever is pulled in.
The circuit needs to be closed to bring the starter circuit into an active state
As Dai mentioned, and as have others, including myself, a banjo pressure switch on a gen2 clutch is a bad idea.
If you run the bike with the clutch circuit shorted, the ecu basically goes into limp mode

You need to put a meter across the supplied switch and see if it's a NO or NC setup.
If it's a NC, then, yes it won't work on a busa and you'll need to come up with another solution.

Basically 3 options:
* Ask Galespeed if they have a NO switch available
* Fab up a bracket, switch and activator
* Contact BoostbySmith and get one of these:

Thanks for the info. What’s a NO and NC switch?

Ok.I would have thought that the switches were all ‘pressed’ with the lever ‘fully out’.Guess not.
