I'm sick and tired of watching the news

Rehashing an old thread..... @RedBull style ......

When one turns on the news, we are greeted by nothing but nastiness happening everywhere. fires in Australia, plane crash in Iran, sabre rattling between Iran and the US, oil prices climbing, shootings, etc...it seems to be never ending.

Sadly a habit of watching the news is a spill over from my past life-one I am going to break this year. After all I learned to stop wearing a watch so this should be an easy one to do.

Race and racism is a compllicated issue, and making it relevant (or worse, causal) in situations like this one appears to be doesn't help improve things. I can't stand when people play the race card when it doesn't apply, all that does is de-legitimize situations where it does. I worked for a woman who truly thought nobody liked her because she was black. It never occurred to her that she was an unpleasant, unlikable b!tch 99.8% of the time, and that maybe that's why nobody could stand her. I refuse to go through life with "because I'm black" as my default position. I'm sure there are some people who don't like me solely for that reason, but of all the people in the world who dislike me I'm confident that it's more likely something other than my race which has rubbed them the wrong way.
Much respect for you Sir. As someone who tries to send that message, as a white man, becomes, I am racist for the very same view you just expressed.

This is a complicated issue absolutely.

We white folk have not been the majority in NA for a long time. if indeed we ever were
We may be the biggest minority but that does not suit the various agenda
It does not work for those members the easily identifiable minorities who pull the race card at every chance Nor does it suit the pro white nationalists who like to think every one should be like them because they re the majority They then claim they are being down trodden
I am a WASP to the core. I was raised by WASP's and grew up around WASP's and have never ever claimed to be colour blind. In my little town we had virtually no Black citizens. In fact I was in my fifth year of high school until we we had a black student. We were a white toast town In fact when we finally got a Chinese restaurant it was a big deal. But as the town became ever so slowly diverse I can also say there was not an issue with it. They were welcomed by most if not all and are still to this day. Our Canada Day celebration are awash with people from every corner of the globe. and we all enjoy the fellowship of our town
I can say I have also never been a racist, bigot, homophobe, or religious conspiritest. My father did not like Germans. England suffered through both wars and he did not enjoy either one But he ABSOLUTLEY did not pass that on to me. He explained that his dislike was personal and historical and I should never ever do the same. When I brought over friends of different colour creed or race they were truly welcome in our house
I like to think that my life as a trucker and a vacationing overseas traveler has given me a broad out look on people. We are not that different when you actually meet other people. I may not understand them but I find I get along with them.
There are all kids of people I do not like. but it is because of who they are Not what they are
None of us are born with a hate for anything. We learn to hate. That comes from many places and reasons.

I’m not sure why race is a card to play on any side anymore. Or why the color of skin, or religious belief defines who a person is. I say that with my own battles on the religious side but I know that it my battle from within. After Iraq I had a hard time adjusting. Living in Rochester where the large majority was wearing all black and covered up made it hard for me to go out and be sociable. That said, I have many friends that are Islamic and I met many people who were not the enemy. Yet I struggle at times. There are “radicals” of every race and belief. I struggle with the radical side of things. So many cultures have so much to offer to humanity. So much we all could learn from each other if we would just stop the hate, and see a person. Have a conversation. We don’t have to agree, but we should respect each other’s opinion.

The world just needs to sit down and have a slice of pie together.

No, I don’t.
I understand.

It is not that the state finances the MSM. That was poor wording on the other poster. I believe that poster was trying to make a point about the collusion between one part of the state and the MSM.

There is certainly no doubt that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the NY Times, the WAPO et. al. are not engaged in journalism but acting as activists for the Democrat Socialist Party.

Your statement above is crap as there isn’t any democrat socialist party.
BFS - THE DSP....call it what it is!

They/you are socialists witch is a precursor to communism and furthermore their behaviors and actions are those of fascists and Nazis...and socialists and commies and all their actions are to the detriment of America - they are certainly acting like the enemy. And I almost forgot your favorite mantra - racists!

It seems to bother you but you need to own the position you choose to support and it is what it is!
