Idle adjuster cable

The first time I tried to adjust the idle, I referred to the shop manual. It showed pictures of a cable sticking out of the fairing down near where your calf would be while riding. On the end of it was a star shaped knob to turn and adjust idle. My 2001 doesn't have it. The idle screw is under the tank on the right side of the throttle bodies. I find it a hassle to get to just to set the idle. I would really like to have that cable for ease of adjustment.

Will the older style cable fit on a '01??

because the easiest way to mess up how a bike performs is to let the average person mess with it.

Don't believe me look how many busa chain snap, Why? not adjusted properly(customer over tightens chain)
