I want it to turn on faster..... ;)

Hehehehee... I want my radiator fan to turn on faster actually..... My fan turns on when it's at slightly above the middle mark in the temp. gauge. But I want it to turn on earlier than that.

Is there a replacement temperature/fan sensor that I can use from a different bike/car that can make this happen? The idea of a manual fan switch is out of the question tho....

Anyone done this before??

there's actually a mod where you can manually turn the fan on yourself.....the big guys will dime in and help you on this or just do a search:thumbsup:

why would you want it to turn on sooner? a higher engine temp (and lower outside temp) increases efficiency (and power) of the engine.
unless you're just trying to keep your legs/arse from cooking, i guess...

Don't need the "WHY"' - Just need the "HOW"

You could get the sensor relocator that the turbo guys run, that moves it to the right side hose. Makes the fan turn on faster, and stays on longer because its in the output side of the cooling system before the radiator.

I got the fan switch as well. I also got the muzzy blade and use engine ice. Huge difference now. The big help was the muzzy blade though. doing that will help the most but the switch does help also by kicking on sooner. Ive done several hot laps at the drag strip and the needle never got to the half way mark. So its well worth it. but do all 3 to get the most out of it:beerchug:

That's good, but the engine ice doesn't make a difference. Its just the same as fuel additives don't make your car have more power, and better fuel economy. The temp switch and fan are a sure fire. I also have the muzzy fan on my turbo bike, and it never goes over halfway no matter what I'm doing.

Yes there is a lower temp switch. TU197 is the autozone part number for 23 bucks. I have that installed with a manual switch to turn on the fans and also dual fans.

With the manual switch, I kept the wiring correct so that the fans would still come on automatically by the temp switch or if I hit traffic I could just flip the switch for the fans.

I currently have a group buy going on with PMR Components for some nice, clean barswitches that mount to your clutch or brake reservoirs. I will be using one of those switches to turn on the fans

The new temp switch is not a direct plug and play....

What are the prices on the switches? I could use one for the data logger, and boost controler.

Dont know for sure as of now because the more people i have that can commit to one, the better discount I can get. As of now I was told 20% but I may be able to get better. The 3 position switch is 89.95 without the discount.

You can still get in on the buy if you do not get your name in on the list. But you will need to keep watching the thread for the buy date and details

If you have ever sat in traffic you know what I mean.. seems to me, that when the fan does kick on the engine is already too hot and the fan won't cool it down.ever wonder why the GEN2 has duel fans.....

Engine ice and a muzzy fan with a gsx1000 temp sensor but u will have to get a plug also to fit the sensor..also u can tap into the 2 wires from the temp switch, and put a toggle switch between them...that will over ride the temp sensor any time u want it to
