I have questions, maybe you have answers. George Floyd & Karma

Flying something like that is beyond 'freedom of expression' in my opinion...the regime it represents is not something to be revered or remembered especially in a country which gave so much to stop it. There should definitely be a law against these types of flags being flown. There are laws surrounding the American flag.

Flags which represent evil and oppression is a far cry from a flag which represents people who are oppressed such as a 'pride flag.'
If someone is allowed to burn our American Flag, someone else is just as "allowed" to fly a flag that disgust others.

No modern republican would find much to agree with in Fredrick Douglass, as he was the leading political leader of his time for black interests and was not above protesting for Black issues.

It's a good thing to know your history before you quote it.

In my personal opinion, they should only remove the statues of traitors, symbols of oppression and statues erected as an act of terror. Unfortunately a mob is usually not prone to thoughtful, surgical strikes.
Umm you do realize that blacks vote Republican right? I mean there are conservative blacks. They are fostering black issues. I guess they need to find a new label besides black now. They don't fit into your idea of blacks now. I think they are called Oreos? Or is it Uncle Toms? Or what now?

Really? I beg to differ...that flag was a symbol for oppression towards all except the "master race." It stands for everything that's wrong in the world and should never see the light of day again except in a museum to show others what should never happen again.

In your context a person can fly an ISIS flag then??? It would be up for less than a second I wager.

As for burning of your flag-take a look at who is burning it and make that correlation.

As for your other comment regarding the flying of an African American flag and the Confederate flag-the two have nothing in common other than the fact the Confederate flag stood for oppression and separation-it has no place in the 21st century.

That war was lost and the people who fought for separation are long gone-or maybe they aren't.

I saw your post on Obama scandals and read it expecting to see something and there was nothing. I typed an item by item rebuttal and then never sent it. Most of it wasn't even a scandal, just righty propaganda. Obama faced a right-wing congress for most of his time in office. All they could find to investigate was the gun running thing that was a W Bush program and Benghazi.

I thought you had something like Obama being in bed financially with Putin, or Obama completely screwing up the defense of our nation against public health danger. It's simply not possibly to intelligently compare Trump to Obama. That's why Trump is going to be a one termer.
Or Obama leaving the middle east conflict and allowing for a power vacuum to be filled by the Taliban? And we have to go back in and refight all over again for what he handed over. You mean how he bailed out the corrupt predatory lenders, while paying out bonuses to the executives, and doing nothing to help the victims of these practices. Many POC still can't buy a house because of this. You mean like Fast and Furious? You mean how the AHCA was supposed to help improve our healthcare system? You mean how his idea of job growth was to add jobs to the minimum wage positions, while fostering the outsourcing of higher paying production jobs and technologies to China? Scandals like that? I do miss that he represented a good example of a man that is a good family man. He loved his wife and kids and showed our country how that looked. Trump is not a very "presentable" president. Obama did a way better job at at least "looking" Presidential.

Biden all by himself will help make Trump a 2nd termer. If thats the best the Dems can do to represent his opposition, our country is in real trouble.

We have a country whose laws uphold the Freedom of burning the American flag as a right. I personally don't agree with that, but I put my life on the line to support that its someones right to do it. So I have to support the same Freedoms for the rest of the scumbags too.

If they can find a legal reason that someone can't fly the ISIS flag (Inciting terrorism as maybe an example), then legally have it outlawed. Then we can use that precedent to work on the taking down the rest that are "offensive" to others.

If I were in the legal team I'd have no issue finding a legal issue for someone to not fly something that represents, hate, oppression and evil-that's a fact right there.

I certainly didn't put my life on the line for someone to fly any of these flags, I put my life on the line so people couldn't fly such a flag or pledge allegiance to such an ideology.

I will say the same thing regarding vets of other wars/conflicts...

How would a WW2 vet think about having such a flag from the former German regime flying next door?
The same way I'd feel about an ISIS or Taliban flag flying next door I'll bet.

Like I said, no place for such a thing in the 21st century.

As for the Confederate flag-they surrendered, the north won that war...time for the symbol of a lost war to be retired. Shouldn't have been allowed to fly after the war was over.

This is not a freedom of speach issue. You can fly any flag you want on your property provided it does not violate any rules for things like decency for that area.

It is important that the government be neutral on race, sex, and religion so things like confederate monuments on government property are out.

A business can do what it wants. But the people have a right to boycott it if they find it offensive. The government did not force NASCAR to remove the confederate battle blag, they did it as a business decision.

You can't on one hand say symbols mean so much and then say they are not real threats. You also cant randomly say "that threatens me". Unfortunately racist WS groups have a long history of acting out on their hate violently, hence it clear these symbols are threats.

So, you don’t think attempted murder for petty theft was “to swift” eh? WTH do you mean by adding, “but” afterwards?
"not too swift" was sarcasm. "but" means "even so". Shooting someone for steeling your flag is extreme BUT you can fly what ever flag you want in America, it's not ok to steel a flag even if it's a boogerface flag.

I don't support the boogerface party but it is a real political party. We don't prohibit any political ideologies. If boogerface flags are banned, any flag can be banned.

It is a judgement call when it comes to publicly displaying images. I don't know of any criteria that is used to determine if an icon is unsuitable for public display but I can't raise any objection to geometric forms of any kind. If a flag represents something so despicable, people who are offended will have to pursue legal avenues.

Some people are proud to be boogerfaces. It's F'd up but that's their right.

WAS a real political party developed and based on hate and oppression and was defeated and condemned ever since...to allow such a symbol of it's flag to be flown if not illegal is immoral and shouldn't be allowed to fly. If some weirdo wants to have it in their house out of sight of others, then so be it. That flag should be banned for what it represented. Flying such a thing in public view even on private property is just asking for trouble.

ISIS thinks they are a political party as well....I'll bet not many of their flags are flying outside homes in the US....and I'll bet for many years after the 2nd war people certainly didn't fly the flag of the former German regime even though there were practicing members within the USA...

It's only now that the 2nd war vets are old and can't do anything are these monsters coming out of the shadows.

No it is your opinion. We form our own opinions about what they mean to us, based on various influences in our life. Formal education is a component of it. If you got taught in your school system, that they mean WS, then you are being taught racism. If whites are taught in school they represent WS, then that is teaching racism. I was never taught by any measure of my education I received that these statues represent WS. They didn't teach us anything at all about them.

Outside of formal education, I'm sure for some white people that want to allow them to stand for WS, they will. Take them down and they will find something else to find as symbols for it. Blacks who want to find symbols of WS and race, will also find it anywhere they want to. Syrup, Rice, etc.

Flying a confederate flag is no different than an African American flying an African flag. If one is allowed to fly and the other is not, tensions will not get better. If that AA flies it to represent their history or culture or whatever reason, it should be tolerated as much a confederate flag doing the same.

When did Africans fight against the US?

It's still a political party. Boggrefaces run for office in the US. Thank goodness they don't get elected but they run and that is their right. I heard of this many years ago when I was young. It's not new.

People are allowed to fly ISIS flags too if they want. People are prohibited from committing crimes that are associated with certain groups but flying the flag of that group is not a crime. These people are out there. I'd rather they identify themselves voluntarily rather than existing in secrecy which no doubt they also do. Most people frown on certain groups. If members of these groups show their flag, people who are opposed aren't going to join up. At least we know who some of them are and where they are.

If you're comparing flying an African flag to flying a Confederate flag, you have to remember that the South was the USA just as much as the North was. They fought against each other but both sides were equally American and both sides fought for what they thought was right. Today the South is generally considered to have been the bad guys but if people want to fly that flag, they can do it. They're not allowed to own slaves and they're not allowed to secede from the US and become their own country but they can have the flag if they want.

This can be discussed until the cows come back home I reckon.....

Flags from the former German socialist party shouldn't exist outside a museum along with the Confederate flag. That war was lost and the flag representing it needs to be lost with it-it has no place in the 21st century.

As for the ISIS flag-I agree with having it flying as it gave me a location to call fire down on them. It needs not be flying in any country.

Damn Sam, the south was obviously NOT the “USA”. Americans yes, but quite obviously not part of the USA as they were fighting for the Confederate States of America. And as such were enemies of the USA, very much (unlike) a black American flying a flag from Africa, from who we’ve never been attacked. You must ‘teach’ pre school or something. Certainly not higher education.

You mean like Herman Shucky Ducky Cain? Excellent strategy BTW, base your argument on the .01% demographic.
