Is there a special tool/screwdriver for taking off the handle bar grips?
I cannot find a screwdriver that fits but yet won't break up the slot to remove the screw.
I ended up having to take the bike to the stealership to put my Heli bars on and now, I can't get those screws out again..
Are they using some kind of air tool with a special tip?

Handlebar grip screws? Do you mean the bar ends?
If that's the case, use a #3 Phillips.
Now here's the trick.. wrap a rag around the bar end and use a pair of channel lock pliers to turn the bar end along with the screw.
Will come right off. Rag keeps the pliers from scratching the bar end.

You can just turn the bar end with the screw, less pressure on the screw. They are easy to strip out.

good info. ive been tryin to get mine off for a while now, and until the grips with a rag, been unsuccessful. thanx hillbillytom.

I sure appreciate all the responses.
I think it's time to get a few tools from Harbor Freight..just in case.
I will test it this weekend.

Thank you.

just be careful, as mentioned you can strip them... and yeah, they are a real pain to get out
