Huggers

I see some bikes that have an undertail installed use a hugger and some don't. I personally (nobody get upset, only my opinion) don't like the look. Since I am ordering an undertail this week, will it get scratched up with out the hugger? Also, I am stretching the bike 4-6inches, does this play into it?

My understanding is that the hugger keeps things a bit more tidy under the tail. Doing so should also help with the dings, chips and scratches.

+1 it keeps things cleaner and less rock chips.

Port - if you do a lot of riding, put it on. Your new undertail will be full of pock marks and chips in no time. However, if you're mostly for show, leave it off for a cleaner look. Busa is a little more 'busy' in the rear of the bike to really get that clean R1 look. I took mine off for a moto show, and didn't all look that different.
