How to adjust idle speed?

My manual shows the location of this to be on the side of my bike but having this adjustment done when I first got it (watching the mechanic) I know its under the tank.

At the moment its running around 800/900. Yeah I know!!!

Before I pop the tank I was wondering if anyone can tell me where exactly I should be looking for the adjustment (cant remember exactly where the mechanic did this).

Keep in mind I havent looked yet, but Id rather side with caution before I start snooping.

Also is there anything else I should know before I make the adjustment besides letting it run for 10 mins?

Thanks guys

Warm the engine up..
Raise the tank..
Use the prop stand from under the hump to hold the tank up.
Look at where the throttle cables end up and you will see the adjusting screw..
Screw it in to raise the revs to about 1200..
Some use a drop of Loctite on the screw as it will come loose again..

This whole job only takes a few minutes..Easy peasy..

+1. Absolutely, and it's on the right side just in case...

Thanks for the info guys.

I set it around 1100/1200 and all seems to be fine.
When my K&N dries Ill take it around the block to make sure it stays.

Many thanks!!!

Yep - what they said.

If you ever need to readjust - since you know where it is located - you can use a long (~12") #2 phillips & flashlight to reach it without raising the tank. Just stick the screwdriver in between the tank and the frame.
