Be honest now, claim what you have gotten and don't exaggerate what you haven't.

Have not been pulled over on the Busa...But once on my Yamaha Fzr600 ..I thought "This is it" let me off....
Never had a moving violation on a bike since 1971 ..Truly amazing to me..Has to do with luck and pick your spots to be Bad...Did i say "luck" Yep...Lot's...Theres always tommorrow.

I have been pulled a couple of times on the busa and in a car but I have always been able to talk my way out of tickets. So I have a clean record. The last time I got pulled over I thought I was done for. The officer had the ticket WRITTEN OUT ALREADY. It was for 110mph in a 35mph zone, No helmet, and failure to stop. keep in mind all the charges were written on the ticket already. I was able to talk her in to voiding the ticket. Just have one question. WHO DA MAN!!!

I was riding down the interstate at about 135, passed a state official of some kind, who called me in too the state boys.
They set up a trap for me about 15 miles down the road,
I saw the cop and hit my brakes hard, immediatly pulling over and stopping.
Guy comes up and says he rides and starts admiring the bike,I chat him up for a few minutes and I guess he just forgot to write out that ticket.
Slowed me down for a little while, and got me using better judgement now.

Yeah, I've had two with the 'Busa....one not so bad (50 in a 35), and one real bad.....105 in a 55. Only my most servile and meek co-operation saved me from having the Vernonia Police haul the Bus away. I've learned (and my insurance premiums learned too!) to save the speed for safer environs.

One ticket on the 'Busa, this will be my 8th or 9th time to traffic school though. hehe. oops!

Daytona Bikeweek 2002 ---- I saw the flashing lights, 3 cars worth, thought i was cruising, but the bike is sooooooooo smooth i didn't think to look at the speedometer till the cops did a u-turn and hit the siren :frown:

On the Busa I have been pulled over once. 53 times in my lifetime I have been written up and I dont remember how many I got found guilty of or plea bargained out of. But I know its over 40 guilty convictions. Now my license is almost clean I have a CDL and all

I wanna know your secret. Sounds like a ton of BS to me, but you never know for sure. Everytime a cop pulls me over I get the whole damned book. It just ain't funny no more.

Move me from 1 ticket to 2 tickets. Mother#$%#@, #$%#$^,#$%$#,$%^$%^ cops. I always get the loser cops who have no common sense. When is a decent cop going to pull me over?

Well Guys,
Here is the secret. I am a car salesman. Getting out of tickets is alot like selling a car. When customers drive on to a car lot they do not like car salesmen, and I have to get them to like me in a very short amount of time or they won't buy. If you can get a cop to like you in a very short amount of time you will be able to talk your way out of most tickets. Most cops are very nice people with a hard job to do. If you pulled somebody over and they gave you a "why the hell did you pull me over attitude" wouldn't you give them a ticket too. On the other hand if you pulled somebody over and they were nice, got to know you, and you had something in common with them you might not ticket them.

in other words, be nice and get them to like you

Hope it helps

Well, I was on a pretty good run there with the local law enforcement, pulled over, but no warnings or anything until a couple of weeks ago. I now have one on the busa. Sucks big time.

I dissagree with Busahead, no disrespect man. But cops are not depending on a sale for income. I've always treated cops with respect/no arguing, and always get the book thrown at me. It depends on the cop, if he wants to he will/if he doesn't he won't. I've seen people scream at cops and still only get a warning. It's the luck of the draw.

Charles,
I said getting out of a ticket is like selling a car. Let me simplify it more for YOU. When dealing with people, if you can get them to like you, you can influence there decisions. It doesn't matter if you're selling cars, getting out of tickets, or trying to get a discount at a store. People will naturally do favors for people that they like.

More tickets=More revenue ie. more raises and better equipment for the police. Ask your local officer if there is a ticket quota. If he says no ask him how few tickets he can write before being pulled into the Sargeants office to have them ask why. Its all one big money making scheme. If they where really concerned just for your safety and the safety of others we would all be restricted to 65 MPH. they need the income
