How hot do the cans get?

Bought some used cans (hate that term) and I want to repaint them. Was thinking of using VHT Engine Metallic which can withstand intermittent temps of 650 degrees. I think this should be enough right?

That should be fine for the cans but not the header. They make header paint that's good for 1200 degrees.
