How do I get these off?

I'm trying to get my handlebar holder on the top triple tree off. How do I get the little chrome caps off so I can get to the bolt. I got the nuts underneath to start moving, but the bolts are now moving and I can't get to the top of them because of the caps. HELP!!!

they are just pushed into the hex head of the bolt... I used a pocketknife and some patience to keep from chewing them up

You likely wont get them off without ruining them also..they are 4 bux each at your friendly Suz dealer..

I used a small pick didnt hurt them..

You can do what I did and buy black ones from lowes for something like 79 cents for a 4 pack.

+1 they will come off just be easy with the pocket knife.. and be careful not to cut yourself..

Not sure if all of them carry the same hardware but my local True value has started carrying a whole line of chrome,stainless and chrome/stainless hardware including the little allen hex head caps in a variety of sizes. Not $4 apiece, but not cheap either.
