Just curious if anyone has tips , points , pitfalls to look out for ?
Seems pretty straighforward but time consuming.
What all is involved ?
I'm figuring all trim and gauges need to come off ?
Mirrors, windshield as well.
After this does whole unit come off with headlight and blinker pods attached or do I have to remove those first ?
Gonna order parts to put Blanca back together soon and just wanna know what I need to look out for.

Thanks

It is very simple/straightforward, just time consuming. I can get mine off in 30 minutes or so with all the practice I've had.
Headlight/Blinkers are still attached when nose comes off. Careful with the female tabs/top of nose near mirrors, those were tricky for me at first.

The main hurdle for my first time was popping out the mirrors, pulling back the rubber housings. After that it was all downhill, rather simple.

Watch your raim air duct gromments when reinstalling...if your not careful...they fall into the duct and you start all over...

I was gonna pull mine off with my truck, but then realized I didn't have it tied on the nose
...and I was gonna post that video properly but no cigar wiff me for some reason

Gauges don't need to come off.

Both side fairings need to come off.

Mirrors and windscreen need to come off.

There are a couple hidden screws that you need to look for and also some hidden push-pins.

It is pretty time consuming.

Once ya have all that done just wiggle the nose and it should come right off.

Never force anything, just take your time.

...And you have to disconnect the wire harness, that should be it:thumbsup:

Ok good so gauges don't have to come off .
Do I need to take off trim pieces around them in order to be able to work ?
Also what wiring harness are you talking about ? The headlight wires ?
Where abouts are the hidden screws and pushpins if you can say ?
Never force anything ?
You mean i won't need a big hammer :)

hes probably talking about the headlight/turn signal main harness.
Clear connector by the fuse block.

screws (philips) on both top side of the air ram.

you need to remove the black plastic under the cowl 6 tiny push pins?
two front two sides same ones you take out for the side fairings.

So DJ did you take off any of the trim pieces around gauges or gauges themsleves ? Is it like Speed King says they dont need to come off and how easy is it to work around them ?

Saiid you are better off taking off all the trim pieces.
Take all of the panels out.
There are another screw set that is attached to the trim pieces on both side.

Ok to make it easier to see and work with things your saying I should take speedo/gauges off ?
Thanks for the pics ?

Why do you have an extra white cowl when your bike is blue and whats wrong with it ?

Yes. its only 2 more bolts and unplugging the speedo harness
You are going to put everything back together and I know you will try to tidy things up anyways.

Then you can make a vid on how to put everything back together!

I was helping someone swap white cowls last nite.
