HOW CAN I TELL WHAT YEAR MY EFI IS?

I JUST BOUGHT AN 01 BUSA. THERE ARE A LOT OF 02 PARTS ON IT, AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT YEAR THE ENGINE IS. IS THERE ANY WAY TO TELL WHAT YEAR THE ENGINE, AND ELECTRONICS ARE?  I WANT TO BUY A PCIIIR, BUT THEY SAY ITS A DIFFERENT PART FROM 01 TO 02.  ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! THANKS IN ADVANCE.

If you purchased it as an 01 then get the PC2 for the 01.
one sure way to tell is theres a plate on the left side of the frame by where your knees sit. It has the manufactured date on it.

Just like Mr. Busa said, should be stamped on the engine case. Can't always trust the one on the frame! Compare this number with the manufacture and they should be able to tell you the year.

You can give the Suzuki dealer the vin from the frame and the engine number and while he is checking those take off the seat and have him check the part/serial/model number on the ecm and hopefully that will give you what you are looking for
