...I've never even seen the aircleaners on the Bus and it has 8500 miles on it! Runs fine, but I don't even know what they look like or how to service them. I do all of my work on the Harley but I've taken the Hayabusa to the dealer for everything up until now -- the service contract is expired.

How do you service those air suckers?

Remove seat.
Lift tank.
Remove airbox screws and airbox top.
Remove filter and replace or clean and replace if its a K&N or similar.

Yes oem is disposable. Might as well get a reusable one as they are same cost as oem.

Or just throw a good ol OEM back in. Depends on the roads you take and conditions in your area, but I let my original filter go to 22K miles by accident and it looked pretty good when I changed it.

reminder: there is a screw smack in the middle of the box. get a copy of the service manual if you don't already have one.
