Hjc fg tech helmet...

A neighbor was nice enough to give my wife a used HJC FG-Tech helmet (Snell 95' approved) to wear...I have yet to get her a new one.  It wasn't until I saw it at home that I wondered just how old it was/is.  I know I could just ask him, and I'm not one to be shy, but didn't want to seem like an ungrateful @ss and tell him, "Thanks, but no thanks."

Anyone know how old this helmet likely is?  
It's better than nothing but if it's too old I don't like the idea of it being sub-par.

Hmmm...maybe the helmet is older than I thought since nobody is familiar w/ it.

Are you "assuming" that because of the 95' Snell rating or because that was simply the Snell standard that was used for this helmet. Meaning didn't they use the 95' requirements from Snell years afterwards?

The date is sometimes stamped inside the helmet. The inner lining might be attached by a few snaps. Try and remove it carefully and you might find the date stamped underneath.

I didnt think thye could sell a snell rated 95 helmet in the stores past 1995. Maybe Iam wrong, but...
