High volume oil pump gear or valve?

Has anybody ever used a high volume oil pump gear or a high pressure oil pressure valve or both? Would this be helpful in a turbo application or not needed? Would this be overkill for street strip or just for an all out race motor? What would be the pros or cons?

Thanks.

i run the gear, no problem so far being on my bike since 03, bike has a velocity stage 2 installed in 03 as well...

not that hard just remove the clutch basket, they the C-clip for gear...should only take 30mins..

So the gear sounds to be a good item to do. What about the high pressure valve? Is it not needed or should they be run together?

You have to be careful with too much pressure because the oil will shear leaving the bearings with out sufficient lubrication.

i just did the gear so do i need a different valve i have never seen this before in all the stuff i have read and even on some of the engine buildup kits it doesnt come with a different valve but it comes with a high volume gear.

just to muddy the water

there's also the whole replacement high volume replacement pump
there's the case oiling mod
the trans gear oiling mod
and a few other oil related fun things that can be done.

as mentioned already, just make sure things are up to temp
it's also a good idea to keep the idle rpm higher than stock
