HIDs and charging system

Just curious now that I have HIDs installed what kind of hit does the battery and rectifier take with the lights.It says 35watts.Is that the consumption it uses while hot or starting up??I have it running thru a relay so it shouldnt ruin the wiring.Just dont want issues later.

You actually get less draw on the electrical system while they're running. The only part where the draw may be stronger is on the ignition of the HID. Which, along with extending the life of the HID system, is the reason for the delay relay.
