Unraped Supra's are getting harder to find so the prices have been going up. You are looking at $18-25k for a decent project car but for one close to mint, you are looking at $30k+ for an almost 10-year old car.

Not that it's a bad thing just something to think about if your in the market. They are nice cars and when done right can put out some insane times/numbers but you can always go faster for less $$$$$$$!

It just depends what tickles your fancy......some like them some don't....same with everything else! To some it's just a car and to others it's just a bike.........
 
followed the video link and it worked well until the Big Busa was about to run then the server crashed. second time it froze up about the same place ( 11+ minutes in) gonna try again tomorrow and hope to see it all

This is the reason I was a nay-sayer. Sorry I can't post the link better. This is a So. Cal group with a 800+hp Viper and 3 Busa's. Stock, slightly modified (the camera bike) and a big bore 'Busa. Also a ZX12R. The stock 'Busa stays with the Viper the entire run up to about 180. The other two blow him away. The camera action on these are killer. Hope you guys enjoy half as much as I did. You'll definitely like the results better.

I don't buy it either after the 850 hp+ viper clip I understand the supra is less weight but it's obvious while watching the video and listening to the toyota freaks that it was a set-up.

The So.Cal. guys who did that Viper vs Busa vs ZX12R video have been around awhile and there are a number more of those videos out there. There have been some major bike and car rags that have followed those guys and there's no doubt as to the authenticity of those runs.

Since it appears the Toyota guys are So.Cal. and the Viper guy is, maybe those two should get it on. My money btw...on the V10 supercharged Viper. In the meantime, I'm going with the 'Busa being able to do no less than go head-to-head with any Supra. This doesn't diminish the fact that the Supra discussed here is one fast mutha. Just some questions.

Lastly, the street drags $uck. It almost always boils down to who gets the first jump. Screw the "roll-on" runs. Stage at a light, all things equal, have it timed down to the 1/100th of a second, make multiple runs. That's the litmus test IMHO.

Spending a LOT of time at our local IHRA (1/8th mile) track, I've yet to see any car that can beat a stock 'Busa that doesn't arrive via trailer. Any 4 wheeler that is street worthy and drives in on it's own power doesn't run low 6 second 1/8ths.

For those that have seen the Viper -vs- Busa video. The Viper was neck and neck with the stock Busa and then started to pull away around 165ish! THIS SUPRA IS PUTTING DOWN 100 MORE HP TO THE GROUND THAN THE VIPER IN THAT VIDEO!

So it is about right!

The only problem is the Busa won't go 200mph at Vegas elevation with 175RWHP so........the 40-200mph lets the car stretch it's legs and the distance between them even more. Don't be fooled, they knew exactly what they were doing when they setup these races.

Cool video. As mentioned before the races play on the advantages of the Supra and the weaknesses of the busa. The best race for the Busa in the video would have been 0-150. Although the Busa probably has great bike acceleration above 150mph, compared to a high hp car, the aerodynamics give the car a huge advantage. Of course as already stated, the Busa in the video probably isn't capable of 200mph so that is obviously another advantage for the Supra in the video. Nothing wrong with the video, but it does show that just because a bike has better acceleration in a certain range, there are ways of setting up a race that take that advantage away.
 
Dude, you've got your numbers wrong. The Viper reportedly puts down 883 RWHP. That's not 100 less than the Supra...it's over 130 more.

When it doesn't quite sound right, feel right, or look right, it is most often not right. I'm going to stay skeptical at best re; the Supra vs 'Busa video.

You know is it just me or is everyone else sick of all these fast and the furious boys ALWAYS taking shots at the Busa? Okay yes you have a bad ass really fast car......but do you realize what you are bragging about? It's like hey check it out man my 1000 HP car just whooped a 170 HP motorcycle. Well you know what if you honestly think thats bragging rights then have at it. Now on the other hand why don't we take a Hayabusa and put a nice twin turbo kit on it or some NOS and then go out and run that same Supra with its big bad turbo kit.....what do you all think would happen then? Personally in my opinion no matter what it is racing something with that hopped up of a turbo kit to a naturally aspirated engine is like racing a Dodge Viper against a Ford Pinto. Honestly it does not matter to me. I know my Busa looks good, runs incredibly fast, and is the best adrenaline rush money can buy. Not too mention if 10,000 dollars can get me right beside a 1000hp car that prolly has way more than that wrapped up in just their mods which makes better sense. I guess I been rambling these videos are just killing me. My .02 cents

Danno what's up? This was a fun little run between me and Pierre. He was not on his Busa, but his friends named Brian. The bike makes 170-175whp here in Vegas. My Supra makes over 900whp at the wheels. I did not state the bike went 200, but the car did. Pierre is a friend of mine and I have no reason to make false videos/ statements. Ask him. I actually did not do the filming on this one, a spectator filmed our run from the bridge, and was nice enough to give it to me. We love bikes and I built this car for other cars, however it is entertaining to run the Busa's!!! No hating here. Just thought I would share my new car set-up and vid's with others... Ride safe.   Garth

Oh I think I could manage.....I wouldn't be nice enough to give you a rolling start. You wanna tag at my Busa then you can go from a dead start fair and square. Lets see how that nice heavy puppy is off the line. I am gonna bet the Busa launches a little quicker
 
im with elsboss ive seen the vid with the 800hp+ viper and the stock busa hung with it, the big bore busa ate it up big time. so 750hp supra can't have more bang than that viper did

You are right if the Supra *was* putting out 750HP but....

...THIS SUPRA DOES NOT HAVE 750HP IT HAS OVER 900RWHP, mabye even 1,000RWHP!

This is no 880RWHP Viper this Supra will outrun the Viper you keep comparing it to!

Don't get me wrong, I love fast cars as much as fast bikes, esp. this Supra but I think it looks pretty bad when they claim a 40-200mph race. That Busa won't do 200mph so....

....THE SUPRA WON BEFORE THE RACE EVEN STARTED!
 
yeah, lots of shid talkin done in that video, doesnt mean it wasnt entertaining to watch... actually I've gotta give them some props for the camera angle... first one I've seen like that

as for realistic... well as its been said, the busa wasnt even going to hit 200mph in the first place, and probably was having a hellova time getting to 180. I know stock wheel base bikes will stand up but dayum, that dude was up a lot...

guess I'm sayin, fun to watch, nothing to brag about at proabably 60+k vs 13k with the deck stacked

I think you guy's have fallen off your bike a few to many times. Re Read the post!.. The car makes more power than the Viper. The car didnt beat the bike by a little bit. It spanked the bike. The race is from bridge to bridge period.
It is not the auto car that raced Nick slick. It is a 6- speed built for roll-ons.. Keep doubting. The car kicked the bikes ass....
