help w/ shifter rod

so i had all my rearsets and brake/shift levers powder coated.

i put it all back together, and finally got to go for a ride today.

as i was about to turn back and head home, some 20+ mi away, my shifter is loose. the rod is hanging down and held down on by a few threads. the rearmost little bolt is missing.

i get it back together and book it on home.

i'm having a hard time understanding how it works

i know i can turn the rod in a clockwise rotation and it screws in the ft and the back

are the little bolts there to prevent it from backing out?

should i be using some kinda locktite?

di i screw the rod in as evenly as i can , the unscrew the 2 bolts outward till they are snug up against that pivot thingy..

shift rod is in the middle of first pic w/ the bolts

once you screw the rod in....make sure you tighten the nut on....that is what keeps it from backing out.

BTW Racer....bike looks amazing in blue....may just have to go down the zuki dealer and see what they have...

looks good, seems you got everything sorted. Make sure the shift lever is in the position you like for your foot and then tighten up those jam nuts. :beerchug:
