Yes as my name implies this is my first bike, but I am 39 and I ve put almost 3000 mi on it since I bought it used.I love speed and Iam 255lbs so I figured I better get a big bike, Well thats what I told my wife any way,I ride with a great bunch of guys who have helped me alot, but I can see there are some really good people here also. so ill be asking stupid questions from time to time so please bear with me

Heck, stupid Questions are what we are here for! We all need a good chuckle.
Just kidding. There are no stupid Questions, And Sometimes those Questions that seem stupid are the ones that make even those with gobs of expereince go "Hmmm".
They also serve to make us all think twice. So welcome to the board and ask away!

Keep her shiny side

M1B.......welcome to the board.

Not quite sure the Busa is a great bike for a first bike for a guy that loves speed........but you know yerself better than anyone.......be careful with the bike.......respect it's power and it'll keep ya on it's back for a long time........mess with it with minimal experiance and you'll find out that it can be very unforgiving.

Take the MSF course.

Be safe dude.......save the stunting for later........we like new members here and want them to be here for a long time.

:super: :beerchug:

Welcome aboard...
The busa is my second bike but it doesn't make any difference.
It has so much power I felt like I had never ride a bike before, and I haven't ride a bike like this before...
You just need to respect the monster beneath the good looks...

Don't get carried away or get disrespectful of your new baby. She can and will become an unforgiving monster if you let her. However, if you keep your cool then your bike will be a gentle, fun-loving beast always ready to please.

And by all means, ask the questions you have or think of.

Congrats on your new purchase. :newbie: Thats one heck of a machine for your first one. Just becareful cause it's a speed demon  The one dumb question is a question never asked.

Welcome

Now that you have the busa for a first bike, would you recommend starting where you did or would you say to start smaller and work your way up? Just curious.

Busa is also my first bike and at least for me it was definitely the right bike to get. I absolutely love it! I got it in April and already 11 000 happy miles on the odometer!

In fact I rode my friend's Honda CBR 600F yesterday. It's a great and "civilized" bike but I know for sure that if I had bought it and tried the Busa afterwards I would have bought the Busa the next day!  ;) My friend rode my Busa and she loved it. It was maybe a bit too heavy for her but she did seem to enjoy the extra power!  :D

As I've said many times before: it's all in your head, some people are ready for the Busa and some aren't. I've dropped my Busa twice (in the garage and on track, only cosmetic damage) and learned my lessons but the same would have happend with any other bike, no doubt about it.

I probably wouldn't recommend the Busa as a first bike to someone I don't know well but at least for me getting the Busa was the right thing to do.

Pete

Welcome to the board first biker! Any ? you have just ask and someone on here will be able to give you the answer that you are looking for.
Do like monsterspeedfreak said and take the MSF course. Hey monster does that mean Monster Speed Freak course? Where do I sign up? Just kidding...

Welcome....and like many have stated.....there are no dumb questions.......and its only dumb if you don't ask.....

A little advise, learn to use the search. It helped me a lot and most stupid questions have been asked before. I am on this board all the time and have learned a lot. It also makes having a Busa all the more fun when you can read and share your stories and pictures with others that can appreciate it.

Welcome and congrats on your new ride! Glad to see you're getting comfortable with the Busa even though it's your first bike...the MSF course is great if you decide to take it...

Enjoy and ride safe!

My only concern with someone having a Busa as their first bike is that they don't really have unit of comparison to know just how good the Busa really is> that's a bit of a shame I think.

But you have chosen a great bike> good luck with it. :)

Another Welcome...A cool head prevails when riding something awsome like a Hayabusa...It is hard to keep a cool head, difficult at best..But can be done..one has too!! Or Die!
As my Sig sez..started with 39cc's..is true @ 16 years old.
So even though I started very small and have lot's of riding under my belt....."Every time i get on the Busa"...Man it's a headgame "war"...Like someone said awhile back...
"If horsepower corrupt's the Hayabusa corrupt's Absolutley"
Very True...But i love that challenge...8k plus so far and loving it..ps I am 52..still twist the wrist..I refuse to grow up..
Later...and good luck...ps i find Cages the biggest threat to my well being......

You wouldn't want me teachin anyone how to ride a bike........bad experiances would ensue. :tounge:

I want to thank everyone for the welcomes, I do respect this bike quite a bit and thankful I waited until i was 38 just turned 39 to get one, because if I had done this at 19 I more than likly wouldn't be here, I also have good people I ride with that don't ask be to go past my abilities. I just got my internet fixed, so im sorry I havn't responded to all of your threads. again thank you guys for the welcome and the advice, which was well taken. :D
