heavy duty valve springs do u need aftermarket retainers?

Question,

I am in the process of upgrading my stage one turbo setup by building the motor to make it more reliable and was looking at heavy duty valve springs both from carpenter and ape and was planning on running 65lb springs and was wondering do you have to run the aftermarket titanium retainers or can you run the aftermarket valve springs with stock retainers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i have had stock retainers for 2.5 yrs with no issues
but i have heard of an occasional issue
i honestly go for the aftermarket if you can afford it

We also always use stock retainers and have no issues whatsoever.

again i too am running 65 lbs springs with stock and no issue here

same here, 65# springs in both turbo bikes of mine stock retainers, when people used to ask me to get them the titanium ones I would usually argue with them til they changed there mind and kept stock lol.
