Always wanted to go there, it's on the list and need to cross it off this Saturday. Busa is all packed up.

1000MileDay.com and the whole goal is simply get a picture of the Busa on the Salt Flats.

Gotta keep things simple. Then back across the state through Rachel on the Extraterrestrial Hwy. All in one day.

the flats are beautiful!
when your headed out to the "speedway", start to slowdown, when you begin to see the sign at the end of the road. THE ROAD ENDS AT THE SIGN!

i rolled up on it at warp speed and almost bailed out across the salt.

have fun. it sounds like a heck of a ride.

Gonna try to update Facebook in real time throughout Saturday. Will take about 18-19 hrs of non-stop riding to make the 1068 mile loop. Longest leg is 256 miles from Lund through Rachel to Tonopah. At 52 mpg & 5.3 tank, and spare 1/2 gallon of gas in (2) MSR fuel canisters, figuring a 300 mile range on one tank of gas.

Last time I tried this (years ago), it was 2000 miles in 2 days (1200/800 mile split), but not on a Busa.

Back from an absolutely amazing ride. Made it to Bonneville.

1105 miles in less than 24 hrs on Busa.

This pic about sums it up. Hwy 50 in Nevada at sunrise, The Loneliest Road in America.
