I just joined and wanted to say hello!

And I have a question that I'm sure you have all heard 1000 times before, but here goes -

I'm considering a Busa, and want ya'lls honest opinion on whether or not its a good idea.

I currently have a Katana (don't laugh!), its my first bike. I've been riding for a year and have 6k miles on it. Also, I've taken the msf class. Frankly, the Kat has been great, but I'd like more bike, probably at the end of the summer, so I figure another 5k on the Kat befre I move up.

I was considering the Gixxer 750, but there aren't alot of twisties around here, and whether I like it or not, most of my riding is commuting. To me the Busa seems like a good choice over a race replica for my riding habits etc. (not to mention its a wicked bike

).

So what do you think, is it really too soon to move into a Bus? I want honest opinions, so don't worry 'bout hurtin' my feelings

BTW, I'm 6'2", 200, 28yrs

Thanks!!!

jmasin, you are definitely ready for a Busa!  I have a 98 C5 and a Busa and they are a matched set.
I don't believe you would be happy with anything else.

You have been riding for some time. A Busa will be fine unless you go nuts with it right away.  Take it slow break in the bike which helps break in the rider....

Go for it, but take it easy with the Busa for a bit. Cranking the throttle on the Busa is going to have very different effects than on the Katana. So give yourself time to get used to it. If you end up buying a new bike, follow the break in closely, and that will work pretty well as an adjustment period for you and the bike.
