Government Program

and i believe you can only get certain cars on the program, namely gm. the govt is just tryin to sell the ones they now "own" since the bail outs. ford is the only american made car that didnt jump in on the bail out bandwagon. i dont own a ford, but props to them for holdin their own.

because if they can get u to trade in your car thats, more than likely, already paid for to buy one from them why not. its not all about the bail out; its all about the money. some money for foreign autos, alot more money for the other

I voted for McCain lol

i sooo wanna trade my 75 el camino for a gixxer 1k.

How ios that when all the jobs are shipped overseas they sure aren't shipping americans there 2 work.!.!

jobs are shipped out of this country because labor is too high. there are countless discussions about that, yet somehow honda and toyota keep building factories here, keep gaining more market share, and have accepted no money from the gov......

all without union labor....

I thought it was suppose to be so Americans would spend money to support the economy.
Any way Dodge has the best deal at least around here they match the Gov. so 4500 becomes 9000 makes buying a caliber 4500 that's a good deal.

Do you wanna make $0.25 an hour? I dont! That is why the jobs are shipped overseas. India was a big hot spot for subcontracting jobs to, that is coming to a screeching halt because it is becoming to costly, because they are WISEING UP.

The powers that be will just look for another country to get to do their work for them so their overhead is so much lower, and then if things go arye, they will just move on to the next poor sucker of a country.

Honda and toyota are investing their time, money and engineering on the future, while ford and chevy really just focus on making money!!!!

This has nothing to do with Union labor. Unions are formed because companies can't/wont be fair to its employees. Also for those companies that dont have unions (BUT NEED) them, they have their employees so scared they come to work with their tails between their legs like a whipped dog!!!!!

I am neither pro union nor against, but I believe if there is a need for a union, there best be one and if EVERYONE is happy then there would be no need for a union!!!!!

It's not about getting polluters off the road. The cars of the early 80's were very fuel efficient. My Mom had a Ford Escort wagon that gets 38 MPG with four people an groceries in it.

If you look at the years of cars they are targeting, they are all cars produced BEFORE the manufactures started installing GPS trackers from the factory.

They claim that they can recycle the metal and use it again. The salvage lots are required to poor a slurry into the engine that hardens making the engine useless. The slurry can not be recycled because it is toxic, and must not be burned for disposal. The older cars in the salvage yards are also on a timeline to be destroyed in the same manner so the public can't get parts to keep cars older than 10-15 years old running.

Welcome to the 'Change'.

Any chance you could provide a link for that material?

Good question. I'm sure it's from a reputable source.

"American" cars are made in Mexico, Canada, and elsewhere. "Foreign" cars are made in Kentucky, Indiana, South Carolina, Alabama

"American" automakers can wrap themselves in the U.S. flag all they want. With the amount of production and jobs they've shipped outside the U.S. they're not worthy of my sympathy.

toyota and honda have been building factories in america...while your beloved big 3 have ben closing them.

the american auto industry has been run by americans, using american, union labor since before we are born......

toyota and honda are run by non-american management, using non-union labor...and the product is better, more reliable, more efficient and last longer....and toyota and Honda are non-shipping job to other countries....

toyota and honda have spent the lat 3 decades using technology to build better cars, sadly the american auot industry has spent that time, polishing the same turds, selling you the same junk, and telling you that its patriotic to buy american....

but its not thier fault, because who was buying those giant gas guzzling SUV and truck...we were. you can't blame dtroit for giving the american public exactly what it wanted...

sounds like the HD way of thinking....keep polishing the same turds, convince the public that buying american is cool, sell a lifestyle. then lookaround and wonder why the foreigners are taking over...
