good starter bike

my girlfriends been riding with me for 3 years now and decided she wants to take the course and get her license what would be a good starter bike, I have a Ninja 250 is there anything better for her to learn on

i'd say that would be perfect bike. nice and light, no real power so she won't get over powered. then get her a nice 600 or 750 to ride

I would say the starter bike depends on the riders maturity. I started on a 600 with no problems. I personally believe that you can start out on any bike as long as you have self decipline. But starting out with the cheapest one you can find on craigslist isn't bad either. You don't seem to feel as bad when it tips over or gets scrapped up.
