First time posting on your site.... I've been building a Busa since the first of the year & just about have it ready to hit the road. I've tweeked a few things along the was (PAIR valve, Power Commander 3, full Akropovic exhaust). My question is this: I'd like to get a GI-PRO w/smart TRE. Do I "need" a TRE also, or is the "re-mapping" already corrected with the PC3....

I dont think there is ever a need for a tre, more of a preference. But the pro's will be here shortly to give a better answer

The standard PC3 allows mapping of the A/F mixture across the RPM band.

The TRE tricks the bike into thinking it is in 5th gear (usually) and thus eliminates the electronic 186 limit.
The GiPro has three modes:
"0" for TRE=OFF
"5" for TRE=5th Gear
"6" for TRE=6th Gear

they really have little to do with each other...depending on your power needs.

From what I understand, there is a throttle limitation in first and second gear from the factory.?

and a top-end limitation of something like 183-186MPH... and the TRE eliminates these restrictions... SO!!! these things are NOT controlled by setting on the PC3, is that correct..???

I'll post some pix tonight... workin like a man-man to pay for the mods....

Thanx for the help guys.... nice to have someone to run this past...CG
