This is the detent plate.......it moves the shift drum which in turn moves the shift forks. Currently in neutral.

I am always fascinated by inner workings of a tranny.

Well mine does the popping in 2nd and 3rd right before it starts to pull the front wheel. my sprocket is very worn so I hope I can replace the chain and sprockets and fix it. Just doesnt feel like a tranny issue but maybe it is. That would be my luck as I have just purchased it. Should i try to go trade it lol?

Wish I knew they had these tranny problems before but thats my stupidity, because its no fun the way it is and the thing is I rode the bike last summer and it never did it not one time! It was my cousins so I didnt worry about it and he had only ridden it two or three hundred miles since then.

NO mate. u shud get it fixed, no need to buy new gears. just buy gear selectors and maybe the shift drum.
