Gen 2 down on power

08’ Busa, stock motor lowered with full Brock’s. Bike is only trapping 1 mph higher than my Gen 1 with the same setup.

Test results on Gen 2:

Compression

#1- 200
#2- 165
#3- 195
#4- 190

Leak down-

#1- 100%
#2- 80%
#3- 100%
#4- 100%

Clearly an issue with cylinder #2. Also found trace amounts of anti-freeze in the oil. I’ve been told it’s a valve, rings, and/or head gasket.

What are your guys thoughts?

First time slip is from Gen 2, second one with 10.20’s is Gen 1.

Thanks,

Mike

More details on the mods. I had a full bolt on gen 1 that’s trapped 142 mph all day. Gen 2 with full bolt ons and set up right with a average rider weight should trap high 140s low 150s. Is your clutch slipping? You sitting up and catching all the wind?

if you did a leak down test that will tell where the leak is coming from...... no real guess work there. Either you will hear air leaking from the exhaust, intake, crank case breather, or it will be coming out of the radiator. Either way pull the motor and pull the head. Have the head inspected and do some upgrades with it out. Install and get a good dyno tune and hit the track.

gear will also play a factor in trap and weight

Definitely remove the head and get it checked over for any cracks, warped surface, valve leakage etc.
Also, don't discount a piston/rings issue on No 2, check for cracked or frozen compression rings.

Stop racing it unless you have a bunch of money... Busa killer has the right plan. Mine detonated at some point and took off the spark plug ground straps on ALL 4, burned two valves and opened the ring lands on the pistons to near catastrophic levels..... yet it ran so well it would make you pee a little bit at each shift..... listen to the engine... it’s talking to you
