Gen 2 Airbox on a Gen 1

Greetings:
Another Busa rider told me that a Generation 2 airbox will fit on a Generation 1 bike. He said it will slightly increase performance. Of course he has an extra one.
Is this true?

never tried it but if it does fit the only gain would be that the gen 2 box is fully open whereas the gen1 has a vacuum controlled damper...i'd say just remove the damper plate and save your money.

I've heard the same thing and when he says slightly ask him to show you dyno sheets with and without the Gen2 box. Because it is not a direct fit and will require a little modifying from what I've heard. Might not be worth the hassle to gain 1 or 2 potential HP

Only advantage is being able open access like ease of installing a nitrous spraybar.
It requires use of the gen1 air box boots. You have to clock them a certain way to line up with the gen1 tb's.
