Gearbox problem

Hi Guys
I have a friend who has a Gen 2 wih Exhaust, PC and quickshifter. The bike started to give gearbox problems. Bike was taken to the dealer, dealer said it was the quickshifter that caused # 3,5,6 gears to burn out according to them because the quickshifter is meant to be used only now and again and that the busa has to much torque. I think the mean they rounded the engagement dogs of the gears.

Has anyone has this happen to them because of the quickshifter?

Have no experience with a quick shifted but he should have removed it before taking it to dealer. All he did was give them a viable excuse to deny warranty coverage and make some extra bucks! If warranty is still in effect.

If it isn't set up properly it can damage the transmission. It has nothing to do with the engine torque. I wouldn't be surprised if the quick shifter voids the warranty.

I have to agree with Dennis. Not a mechanical engineer, but I would think there would be more stress on 1, 2, and 3 vs, 4, 5, and 6.
